You are invited to a workshop hosted by Stormwater SA, IPWEA and Water Sensitive SA for members and supporters to discuss issues of interest and concern regarding integrated urban water management, and to provide feedback about Department for Environment and Water’s future urban water directions issues papers.
South Australia requires a strategic, collaborative, and transparent approach to planning for the management of urban water that can address the complexity of issues faced by the sector. There is no single solution – rather, a range of solutions that work together will be required. This includes simple and already proven measures being delivered alongside the new and innovative.
Presentations by DEW on the issues papers will be followed by a workshop exploring the high-level themes of:
- water supply planning for the future
- providing for future flood mitigation and other stormwater management services
- ensuring water contributes to our cities and towns as healthy, green and climate resilient places
and other matters including:
- watercourse management
- stormwater quality, in particular sediment management
- governance structures for effective stormwater management
- stormwater management for infill development and growth areas.
Comments on the issues papers are open until Friday 1 October 2021.
