Water Sensitive SA has released a new fact sheet to assist raingarden designers to consider planting lists that provide are range of visual statements and biodiversity benefits, while still ensuring functionality for stormwater nutrient removal, including:

  • colourful species to attract birds and butterflies
  • seutral colours
  • spiky-looking species to suit an architectural setting
  • indigenous flowering raingarden.

N = These species help draw excess nitrogen out of the water. For the best water quality outcomes, you’ll want to make up your Treatment Zone using at least 50% of these.
