On behalf of the Water Sensitive SA program partners, Mellissa Bradley and Kathryn Bothe will continue to support water sensitive urban design capacity building initiatives in South Australia for the next five years as Program Manager, and Communications and Events Manager respectively, following a successful open tender process.
The award-winning duo have built the program from humble beginnings in November 2014 to become a hub for information on best practice water sensitive urban design, peer-to-peer learning, and more formal training for practitioners.
“A key focus for the next 18 months will be mainstreaming of water sensitive urban design practices,” says Mellissa. “Our partners have given us the clear direction to make our resources and training more accessible to those section of industry who may be considered emerging WSUD practitioners, in the expectation that standard industry practice can evolve to a new normal that has liveabilty and community wellbeing as primary objectives. It is our role to raise awareness and understanding of the ability of WSUD to contribute to healthier lifestyles and communities amongst our extended industry networks and the wider community.”
